Currently in the process of packing up and moving house AGAIN! We just moved here to Alexandra Hills in November 2019 and within three weeks, the house was being appraised and now the landlord has decided to sell. That means ONCE AGAIN, my guitar effects builds etc.. are on hold yet again until we move house. Hopefully we can find somewhere decent that I can actually restart my hobby of BMC Guitar Effects....
My name is Brendan and Ive had a long time hobby of designing and building guitar effects pedals for myself. I run my own business as full time guitar teacher and the guitarist for a progressive fusion metal / jazz influenced band called, The Cilikis. Ive been playing guitar for over 29 years and have, what I think, is a good ear for good tone!
Guitar effects building came along while I was trying to improve my tone back in 2010. My Marshall DSL100 head wasnt giving me the sound I wanted. I did a little research on pedals and overdrives to push front end of the preamp when, I stumbled up on a video by Brian Wampler of Wampler pedals. Back then, he was known as the Indy Guitarist. He was demonstrating how he came up with a circuit, breadboarded the circuit and how he tested it with various amps he had on hand. This lead to me buying his book on breadboarding distortion pedals and I was thoroughly hooked on pedal design from then onwards!
Though over time, due to a number of things like numerous house moves, career changes etc... I had to put BMC Guitar Effects on hold. BUT now time has moved on and things seemed to have settled into a grove now both personally and professionally. So its time to dig back into designing and building guitar effects.

- A buffered single stage transistor distortion pedal with shaping options.
- BMC Lithium Overdrive redesign.
- Just taking the existing circuit and redesigning the PCB for a quicker, more convenient build process
- BMC DirtBoost
- My FIRST Pedal design. Two stage JFET clean boost / mid breakup boost pedal that I am bringing back to market.
